About Eric

Originally hailing from Hartford CT, Eric Boccaccio is an advanced, multi-disciplinary writer with a background in research, technology, science, and global affairs.

He received his college education at Emory University in Atlanta GA, where he majored in International Politics. While in college, Eric studied a broad variety of disciplines including technical writing, statistical modeling, global politics, biology, physics, business/economics, computer science, theater, and even Chinese language.

In Summer 2019, Eric completed an internship at FiOS 1 News in New York. In addition to writing and producing on-air news stories, he gained experience in TV engineering, news control rooms, transmissions, and worked with upper station management.

From July 2019 to May 2020, Eric lived and studied in the Republic of Singapore, where he established a global network of colleagues. While there, he embarked on almost a dozen immersion trips throughout the region.

During the 2019-nCoV pandemic, Eric worked as a delivery and packaging volunteer at the Singapore Food Bank. Later, he returned to the US to serve as a computer-repair technician in South Florida. This role took on an extra importance in 2020 given that the internet became the sole artery through which the economy continued to function.

Upon graduation in December 2021, Eric hopes to become involved in journalistic or academic research. Because of his multi-disciplinary experience, he is well suited to a variety of roles and environments.

It is worth noting that Eric does not often write about himself in the third person, and views the practice as being particularly silly.
